On 26 November Forum Europe hosted a high-level discussion, supported by McDonald’s Europe and the SAI Platform, to debate these challenges and investigate possible solutions.
Discussions were centred around two key themes:
- An examination of how beef production can become more environmentally sustainable
- The economic viability of beef supply in Europe
More Information:
Beef is a nutritious and high value product that numerous consumers enjoy. Yet, as a result of the valuable resources used in its production, beef is considered to have a high environmental footprint compared to many other food products. With increasing costs for feed and other resources, using these resources efficiently is now equally as important for farmers to stay in business as it is to protect the environment.
