Antony Jenkins is the Group Chief Executive of Barclays.

Previously, he was Chief Executive of Barclays Retail and Business Banking, a position he held since November 2009.

Antony started his career at Barclays in 1983; where he completed the Barclays Management Development Programme before going on to hold various roles in retail and corporate banking. He moved to Citigroup in 1989, working in both London and New York. In January 2006, he rejoined Barclays as Chief Executive of Barclaycard.

Antony is a member of the Board of Directors for the Institute of International Finance, Cranfield School of Management and Catalyst. He is also the Chairman of the Banking Environment Initiative, International Advisory Panel member for the Money Authority of Singapore and an advisor to the Acumen Fund.

Marcin Kawiński

Dr. Marcin Kawiński is a reader at the Warsaw School of Economics, Department of Social Insurance. His scientific interest focuses on management of social risk with special attention paid to usage of insurance for households and consumer issues. PhD’s thesis (at the Warsaw School of Economics in 2007) was concentrated on effectiveness and efficiency of public and private insurance in social policy. Dissertation was financed within doctoral grant awarded by Ministry of Science and prized by Ministry of Social Affairs. The revised version of PhD dissertation was published.

Scientific projects lead by Kawiński have focused on usage of insurance within wide range of risks, like: sickness, unemployment and old age. The on-going projects are dedicated to personal finance from insurance perspective (microinsurance in Poland, insurance awareness of Polish citizens, insurance for households – scientific grants).The past projects covered guarantee schemes in pension basic schemes (project awarded by ISSA - International Social Security Association), best benchmarks for pension funds and the way they are presented to the funds’ members (grant of National Science Centre), and equity release in Poland. Almost all researches have been finalised with publications that deal with different aspects of social risk management from the perspective of household and state.

Kawinski has reach background in consumer affairs participating in many public hearings. Since 2010 Kawinski, as an independent expert, is a member of FSUG (Financial Services User Group at the European Commission), advising on consumer issues within financial services. Marcin Kawinski is also the member of the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group at the EIOPA (the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority) as representative of academia. In the past he was also a member the Occupational Pension Stakeholder Group at the EIOPA and of the Banking Stakeholder Group at the EBA (the European Banking Authority). From 2007 to 2010 he was a member of FIN-USE (Forum of user experts in the area of financial services at the European Commission). He also participated in Consultative Panel of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors and an was an expert in PHARE and in TAIEX (the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange at the European Commission) projects in Bulgaria and Turkey. For many years Kawinski worked for Insurance Ombudsman in Poland. In the period 2006-2008 Kawinski participated in the Steering Committee of the FIN-NET (Financial Dispute Resolution Network at European Commission).

Koos Timmermans (1960, Dutch nationality) has been vice chairman of ING Bank since 1 October 2011.

From 24 April 2007 to 1 October 2011, he served as chief risk officer and as a member of the Executive Board of Amsterdam-based ING Group. In this period, he also served as CRO on the Management Board Banking and Management Board Insurance of ING Group.

Koos Timmermans joined ING in 1996. He performed various roles: head of Treasury ING Insurance, head of Corporate Market Risk Management and from 2006-2007 he was deputy CRO of ING Group. Prior to ING, he worked for IBM’s European Treasury in Ireland. He started his career at ABN Amro in 1986.

Mr Timmermans graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1986 with a master’s degree in economics.

After post-graduate studies at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud, Section Humanities and Social sciences, and an experience in differents branches of French civil service, Edouard FERNANDEZ-BOLLO joined the Banque de France, french central bank, in 1988.

He has occupied different posts related to Banking Regulation and Licensing, European harmonization and Banking Resolution issues. After 2000 he was in charge of the legal department of the Commission bancaire, the French banking supervisory authority and of its antimoney laundering policy unit. He became in 2004 its General Counsel and in 2008 Deputy General Secretary. Since 2007 he chairs the Basle Committee Expert group on AML-CFT (antimoney landering and combating the financing of terrorism) issues. He was a member of the ILEG advisory group of the European Commission on banking resolution.

In March 2010 he was appointed Deputy General Secretary of the new Autorité de contrôle prudentiel, the integrated French prudential supervisor for the banking and insurance sector, which received new powers and missions in particular for banking resolution in July 2013 and changed its name to Autorité de contrôle prudential et de résolution (ACPR). Being in charge in particular of Institutional European issues, this functions have led him to be closely involved in the preparation of the Banking Union, both at ACPR and ECB level.

In Janaury 2014 he has been appointed to the position of Secretary general of the ACPR.

Cyrus Ardalan is a Vice Chairman of Barclays and Head of EU and UK Public Policy and Government Relations.  

Previously he was a Vice Chairman of the’ Investment Bank where he has had a variety of roles, including Head of Public Sector EEMEA, Head of Investment Banking Division, Middle East, Africa and Emerging Europe, and Head of Investment Banking Division Continental Europe.

Cyrus joined Barclays in 2000 from BNP Paribas where he held a number of senior positions between 1990 and 2000 in London and New York. These included the Global Head of Bonds, Global Head of Fixed Income Marketing and President and CEO of Paribas broker dealer in the US. Prior to this  he was a Managing Director at Chemical Bank. After spending 12 years at the World Bank, in a variety of roles, including Division Chief of Treasury Operations.

Cyrus is currently Chairman of the Board of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) and Chairman of the British Banking Association Strategy Group.  He is also an Honorary Adviser to the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII) in China, and a Member of the Board of the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm).

He has previously served as a member of the board of the Dubai International Financial Centre (Dubai's onshore banking facility) and on the Federal Reserve of New York Foreign Exchange Committee.

He is a graduate of University College London and Balliol College University of Oxford.  He is a member of the Campaign Committees of both institutions. He has published a number of articles including co-authoring a book on the principals of workers self management in Yugoslavia.

As Finance Director in the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) G. Thomas is responsible for the borrowing and lending activities of the European Union, the treasury and asset management of the European Commission and the coordination of all financial instruments support schemes involving the EU budget. The later include instruments in support of SMEs and infrastructure financing. G. Thomas is a member of the EIB and EIF Board of Directors and an observer at the EFSF/ ESM Board.

Prior to his current assignment G. Dr. Lutz-Christian Funke completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in law at the universities of Freiburg, Frankfurt and Geneva. After having completed his second state examination in Berlin, Dr. Funke was awarded a German doctorate in law from the University of Frankfurt. Subsequently, Dr. Funke went on to work for an international law firm in Brussels. In 1996, he joined the KfW Group in Frankfurt, initially as a Project Manager in the Office of Management Affairs, subsequently as a Senior Project Manager and Vice President in KfW's export and project finance group and in 2003 he was promoted to the position of First Vice President responsible for Management Affairs. In 2007, Dr. Funke was seconded to IKB Deutsche Industrie AG as an Authorised Representative and Senior Vice President responsible for the Office of Management and Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications. In 2009, he returned to KfW initially as Senior Vice President of Corporate Management, now responsible for the Office of Management Affairs and Corporate Communications of KfW Group.

Dr. Funke is member of the board of directors of IKB – Deutsche Industriebank AG and Managing Director of KfW’s GZBV Verwaltungs-GmbH (Administration EADS shares).

Daniel has been Chief Executive of the IMA since December 2012. The IMA represents over 200 individual investment management firms which in total manage over £4.5 trn of assets from the UK. The UK is a global hub for asset management with high standards of regulation and governance and a breadth and depth of talent, expertise and professional services that is envied around the world.

He has been responsible for a restatement of the IMA’s purpose as being to help Members deliver on the very important role they play in the lives of real people and the economy and has initiated number of significant projects which demonstrate the intent behind the words.

Previously he spent 11 years as Director General of the Association of Investment Companies where he led on a number of complex regulatory and industry challenges. He was also founding Chairman of the charity, the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg) and a member of HM Treasury’s Financial Services Forum where he Chaired the Simple and Transparent Products Working Group that formed the basis of current Government proposals. 

Most recently, Daniel spent two years as Communications Director at the Phoenix Group.

He studied at the University of Manchester and did his BA in Economics, Politics and Social Anthropology.

Verena Ross is the Executive Director of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). She took up the role on 1 June 2011 and is the first person to hold this post.

Prior to joining ESMA, Verena held a number of senior posts in the UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA), with her most recent post being Director of the FSA's International Division. She was also Director of Strategy & Risk and held posts in the Markets Division and the Executive Chairman’s private office at the FSA. She was a member of the FSA’s Executive Committee from 2007 to 2011.

Verena began her career at the Bank of England following studies in Hamburg, Taipei and London.

Chris Brummer

Chris Brummer is an expert in international financial regulation. Prior to joining Georgetown's faculty with tenure in 2009, Brummer was an assistant professor of law at Vanderbilt Law School. He has also taught at several leading universities as a visiting professor including the universities of Basel, Heidelberg, and the London School of Economics. In 2012, he was appointed the C. Boyden Gray Fellow for Global Finance and Growth at the Atlantic Council, where he leads the think tank's work on economic and regulatory issues.

Professor Brummer lectures widely on finance and global governance, as well as on public and private international law, market microstructure and international trade. Before becoming a professor, he practiced law in the New York and London offices of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. He is currently serving a 3-year term as a member of FINRA's National Adjudicatory Council.

Roger M. Hollingsworth is Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Global Government Affairs for the Managed Funds Association (MFA), and is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of MFA’s advocacy and outreach efforts before U.S., European, and other international policy makers.

Prior to joining MFA, Roger served as Deputy Staff Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee under then-Chairman Christopher J. Dodd (D-CT) where, among other responsibilities, he was responsible for coordinating the Committee’s legislative and policy response during the earliest stages of the mortgage, credit, and financial crisis, which led to the Committee’s development, and ultimate passage, of the landmark Dodd-Frank financial regulatory reform legislation. From 2007-2008, Roger was an informal policy advisor to then-Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. In addition to his role with Chairman Dodd, Roger spent more than 10 years on Capitol Hill as a senior aide to several Members of the United States Senate, including Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Vice Chairman of the Senate Democratic Caucus. Originally from New York City, Roger received his B.A. from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and did his graduate work at the University of Maryland.

Jeremy is a Commissioner of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and is a former Chairman of the UK National Employment Panel. He was awarded a CBE in 2005 for his services to employment.

Dr. Klinz was a Partner with McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf and Paris.  Subsequently he served as a Member of the Executive Board of a Swiss Corporation. After German reunification he joined the Executive Board of Treuhandanstalt, the German Government's agency for privatisation of the former East German industry. He finished his business career as CEO of a large German corporation in 2003. From 2000 to 2004, he held the (honorary) position of President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Frankfurt am Main.
 
Elected as a Member of the European Parliament in June 2004, he is a full Member in the Committee of Economic and Monetary Affairs and a substitute in the Committee on Transport and Tourism. Furthermore, he was the Chair of the Parliament's Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis from 2009 to 2011.

Previously, John was a member of the Cabinet of the European Commissioner responsible for financial services, a political journalist, and a Special Adviser to the British Foreign Minister. He was the founding chairman of the European Public Affairs Consultancies Association and the author of the Code of Conduct which now underpins EU consultancy business.
