Summary
The Integrated Border Management Conference 2010 once again brought together the key policy-makers, governmental agencies, industry players and other stakeholders, to debate the policy and practical issues relating to the management of Europe's borders.
Thank you to all who joined us for what we feel was a thoroughly successful and informative event.
An initiative from the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and hosted by Accenture, this conference was a major opportunity for the border management community to engage with each other at a time when border security issues are high on the political agenda.
The conference looked at existing programmes and technologies, presenting the experience gained in implementing integrated border management solutions around Europe and the world that are available today. The key policy issues that need to be addressed in developing these solutions was also be discussed, looking at areas such as data privacy and protection, information management systems and supporting the Internal Security Strategy.
In addition, the conference addressed the practical issues around the deployment of border security and travel facilitation tools and solutions, and the border control and immigration authorities’ perspective on integrated border management.
Below are the speaker presentations used at the event:
Session 1 - Learning from existing programmes and technologies
Session 3 - The operators view
Session 4 - The border control/immigration authorities view
