Overview:
The topic of digital ethics is rapidly rising up the public agenda and is generating increasing interest amongst business, civil society, policy makers, regulators and academics. With this increase in prominence, how does digital ethics tie in with rights-based data protection rules such as the GDPR, and how influential will data ethics become in the next few years?
The expert panel will consider practical approaches to digital ethics and the challenges facing society and industry in an increasingly sophisticated data-driven world. Questions to be debated will include:
(i) How businesses can integrate digital ethics into their operations?
(ii) Can and should digital ethics be codified?
(iii) How can society benefit from the processing of data without compromising fundamental rights?
We hope that this discussion will engage a variety of perspectives and we encourage audience participation.
