This session will look at how customers are driving changes to the ecommerce sector and at the role of online platforms.

How are ecommerce players, ranging from SMEs to the large multinationals, reacting to evolving consumer needs as well and how is the industry attempting to shape these needs? How can the policy approach both respond to consumer needs and does not prevent European industry players from maximizing the opportunities offered by the digital economy but, instead, encourage the future development of e-commerce?
