AI 2018 will look at how EU lawmakers are currently approaching artificial intelligence and what we can expect over the next few years from a regulatory perspective, as the deployment of AI increases. What needs to happen to ensure European leadership in the field of artificial intelligence, and is this a realistic ambition? Can European policymakers sure up public trust in AI and autonomous systems, without stifling innovation?

Sessions at the conference will deal specifically with issues around liability, accountability and ethics, innovation, both today and tomorrow, and the future of work and the extent to which approaches to social security around Europe will need to be updated in the near future.
